Current air quality standards may not be strong enough to protect health

ambient air qualityHigh levels of air pollution are obviously dangerous to humans, but a new study has shown that low levels of fine particulates and ozone can also adversely affect health.

The study showed that being exposed to certain substances, even within current legal limits, can have an adverse effect on vulnerable members of society, particularly the elderly.
